My

I run my campaign with a six-point policy. I have identified current problems in Sri Lanka in six major areas. My objective is to further the program and “Make Sri Lanka Great Again” by providing practical and effective solutions to many problems in modern manner.

YOU ARE ALWAYS PROTECTED

Security

National

I consider the national security of our country to be number one. Every citizen and every foreign visitor to Sri Lanka should be able to live and travel in our country freely. It is my acknowledgment that when there is a safe environment, all other areas will be developed. That is why I have made national security a priority in my election manifesto.

HEALTH IS WEALTH

Society

Healthy

I also accept that health is the greatest gain, as preached by the Gautama Buddha. I consider it my responsibility to create a healthy society, just like our great ancestors did in the past. I intend to introduce the latest technology to the Sri Lankan healthcare system, to produce the best medicine, medical equipment etc. in Sri Lanka.

Education

Education is the lifeblood of a country. I am committed to furthering the quality of free education started by Mr. C.W.W Kannangara, who was a great member of the UNP, and is an example to the whole world. I am committed to uplifting education from kindergarten to university, from school education to vocational education. I will also try to reduce unemployment, which is a serious problem and provide a job that suits everyone’s talents.

REBUILDING THE ECONOMY

My primary objective is to rebuild the economy of the country. I will keep the imports as low as possible. I will introduce new international markets to our exports and enhance their quality. I will send skilled workers overseas. I commit to building a self-sufficient economy with priority for local production.

I firmly believe that religious harmony is the very existence of a country. I am committed to forging a close bond between Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Malay and all other religions in the advancement of Gautama Buddhism, which is the state religion of Sri Lanka.

As Sri Lanka is a patriarchal society like most of the other South Asian countries, but from a very ancient time, our country was treated with great respect for women. In keeping with this supreme tradition, I am committed to providing appropriate women’s representation in all responsible areas in Sri Lanka. I also consider making women’s protection and education is a priority.
